Reggae
Reggae is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s and quickly emerged as the country’s dominant music. Stylistically, reggae incorporates some musical elements of rhythm and blues (R&B), jazz, rock, hip hop, mento, calypso, African and Latin American music as well as other genres. The typical reggae instruments are drums, electric bass, electric guitar and keyboard. However, such instruments as horns, brass and afro-cuban percussion can be presented. The most significant names in this genre are Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Sly and Robbie, Burning Spear.
