Deep House
Deep House is a sub genre of electronic dance music (EDM) created by club DJs and music producers in Chicago, USA, in the early 1980s. It usually includes slower bpm’s, fewer vocals, darker emotions, elements of Chicago house, jazz-funk and Detroit techno. Infusing elements of trance and house with techno music result in progressive deep house. Rhythms are provided by drum machines, off-beat hi-hat cymbals and synthesized basslines. Some prominent names of this genre are Larry Heard, Kaskade, Andy Caldwell, Maya Jane Coles, Miguel Migs, Nicolas Jaar.
