Nu Metal is a subgenre of Alternative Rock that was invented by Korn. It combines elements and influences from a variety of musical styles such as hip hop, funk, industrial and grunge. Vocal styles in Nu Metal include singing, rapping, screaming and growling. Music is mainly based on guitar riffs. The most influential names are Korn, Limp Bizkit, Godsmack, Linkin Park, Static-X, Slipknot, Mudvayne, System of a Down, Deftones, Ill Niño, P.O.D.
